Mr Mackie's devotion to his Capri was remarkable, he kept the car for 24 years, meticulously maintaining it through the supplying Ford dealer, accumulating eighteen service stamps in the original record book.Â
He documented every maintenance event in chronological order, even noting small quantities of oil top-ups, clearly treasuring this car that matched the colour and trim of the press cars used to launch the Mk2.
When offered for sale in 2018 with just 32,431 miles, the Capri found its perfect custodian in Ford enthusiast Ian Gunning from County Roscommon, Ireland.
